Dementia

Do I have a problem with my memory?

If you, or someone you care about, has been experiencing memory problems recently which are causing you concern then please make an appointment a GP to discuss this and perform a memory test. It is important that a relative or friend attends this appointment with you. Depending on the result of the test you may have to have blood tests arranged and an onward referral to the Early Intervention Dementia Service (EIDS).

Young Onset Dementia

Receiving a diagnosis of dementia aged under 65 is relatively rare and information about young onset dementia and age-appropriate support can be hard for people to find.

Dementia UK has created a section of content about young onset dementia to bring together information and resources that have been created specifically for younger people, that cover the key issues that you may face.

Their website features information about young onset dementia, life with the condition, as well as a listing of young onset dementia related resources such as films, books, blogs and publications to help you to feel better informed and supported.

Find out further information and resources about young onset dementia on the Dementia UK website.
