Urine and/or Blood tests

Do you have a urinary tract infection (UTI)?

If you think you have a urine infection, please call the surgery and tell the receptionist. You will then be asked a series of questions to obtain some information about your symptoms, and a message will be left for the Duty Doctor. They will then decide if you need to provide a sample, and will provide further advice.

Please do not drop in a urine sample without being informed to do so by one of the staff at the surgery as it may be destroyed without testing.

Blood tests

If you are due a blood test as part of your ongoing long term condition, please double check with reception as to when your next blood test is due.

We cannot do a blood test because a patient wants one done; it must be authorised by a GP first. If you feel you may need a blood test due to ongoing symptoms or feeling run down, please book an appointment with a GP. They will advise you on the best course of action for you.
